Okay guys WHO ANGERED THE HELLMONSTER THAT IS IN CHARGE OF 2020? Just come forward, already… it will be over swiftly, I promise.
I mean, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
I really do hope everyone is safe, healthy, and hanging in there. I don’t know about you, but I feel like, after 8 months of this Covid quarantine/unbelievably spectacular political bonfire/actual megafires here in Colorado, etc., I’m waiting for something. Waiting for… Covid to end? The world to go back to normal? For our president to give a shit about us? I mean, these are tall orders, but they still seem within the realm of possibility, I guess?
Anyway, on to things I can control. I have not posted in several months, largely due to that I have two passions: drinking and storm chasing, and I spent most of my late spring to fall storm chasing (no, I was not drinking at the same time… haven’t figured out how to do that legally yet). I suspect the blogging portion of SugarFree Mixology will end up being seasonal for this reason, but my Instagram is ON FIRE and that will continue. If you don’t follow me, you should: @sugarfreemixology (duh). If you don’t have Instagram… there’s no hope for you. Or, at least, this is what I was told, so now I’m passing it on. You’re welcome.

And, speaking of social media… I was just featured on my first PODCAST, with my dear friend Heather! Ask me about my Type 1 is a weekly podcast that features Type 1s & their guest Type none’s (non-diabetics) to talk about various topics… mine, of course, was alcohol. Drinking while diabetic is a strangely under-discussed topic, considering the number of diabetics I know who drink. Anytime anyone google searches it, all you get is a few prescriptive posts from the usual suspects (ADA, Beyond Type 1, etc.) telling people to drink moderately and eat carbs. That is not real, people. What is real is that because I had a bad day, I’m gonna eat a fucking entire cake and consume at least 3/4 of a bottle of wine, because I’m human and I manage to, on the daily, convince myself I’ve FIGURED OUT THE INSULIN EQUATION AND THIS TIME I WILL MAINTAIN PERFECT BLOOD SUGAR. We all know how that goes *shrugs*. Anyway, my point is that I’m glad Walt had us on, so that slowly but surely information about how to drink safely and less sugarly (yup, that’s a word) can percolate into the community. So, please check us out on Season 4, Episode 2 of Ask me about my Type 1!
